Maryland Works

Maryland Works is a statewide membership association that expands employment and business ownership opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers to employment.

The University System of Maryland policies and procedures require, to the maximum extent practicable, the purchase of supplies and services in accordance with Title 14, subtitle 1: preference providers. More specifically, Section 14-102 (a) requires “a State or State aided or controlled entity” to buy supplies and services from Community Service Providers through the Maryland Works Program for disabled individuals.

Maryland Works provides a wide range of services and products ranging from facilities related services to a variety of administrative support services.  UMD is expected to check to see if suitable services or supplies are available and obtain a waiver if they are not.

When needs arise that fall into the Maryland Works offerings, contact Maryland Works, with a description of the work to be performed, at opportunities@mdworks.com
